Day 1: Welcome to Christchurch

On arrival at Christchurch Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel by private car. Meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers this evening for a welcome reception.

Day 2: Christchurch – Twizel

You’re invited’ to a barbecue lunch at Morelea Farm, a working sheep farm. You’ll be welcomed into the home of your hosts Angie and Stan Taylor and their 240 hectare garden. Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd and soak up the alpine scenery of Mt. Cook National Park.

Day 3: Twizel – Dunedin

View the Waitaki Hydro Power Scheme and Benmore Dam. Travel through Oamaru, with its famous white limestone buildings, en route to Dunedin for a tour of the city.

Day 4: Dunedin Included Choice – Te Anua

Today choose one from a range of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. You have the option to tour Larnach Castle, ride the Taieri Gorge Railway or take the Monarch Wildlife Cruise to see the Penguins and the Royal Albatross. Perhaps visit Cadbury World or Speight’s Brewery. Later, travel across rich fertile sheep-filled farming land to Te Anau.

Day 5: Te Anua – Queenstown

Amazing photo opportunities await you as you see rainforest, ancient glaciers, mountain ranges and the hand-made Homer Tunnel. Pass the Mirror Lake, Pop’s Lookout, Cleddau Valley and the Chasm. Your cruise on mystical Milford Sound will take you past Bowen Falls and Mitre Peak. Afterwards, travel over the Devil’s Staircase, along the shores of Lake Wakatipu on your way to Queenstown, the adventure-capital.

Day 6: Queenstown Included Choice

Today choose one from a range of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. You have the option to ride the Shotover Jet, join a wine tour, play a round of golf or take the gondola to Bob’s Peak for dinner at the Skyline Restaurant. Perhaps take a 4WD minibus through Skippers Canyon, relax with a spa treatment at Millbrook Resort or go horse riding. This evening cruise across Lake Wakatipu aboard New Zealand’s oldest steamship, the TSS Earnslaw, to Walter Peak High Country Farm for a gourmet barbecue ‘highlight dinner’ at the Colonel’s Homestead. BC HD

Day 7: Queenstown – Franz Josef

Visit the historic gold mining village of Arrowtown. Enjoy the tastes of delicious stone fruit at Cromwell, the stone fruit capital. See a trio of lakes, Dunstan, Hawea and Wanaka. Travel over the Haast Pass and view amazing Thunder Creek Falls. Then it’s on to Franz Josef Glacier.

Day 8: Franz Josef – Punakaiki

It’s time for an exhilarating adventure among temperate rainforest giants on the West Coast Treetop Walkway. Then depart for Hokitika, home of the native greenstone (jade), for a factory visit and jewellery demonstration. Later, travel to Punakaiki to view the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes.

Day 9: Punakaiki – Christchurch

At Arthur’s Pass you’ll board the TranzAlpine train to travel through the Southern Alps to Christchurch. Join your Tour Director this evening for a Farewell Dinner.
