For approximately 3.5 hours you and 11 other eager climbers will join a climb guide and weave through catwalks, climb up ladders and then arrive at the most spectacular point of all – the upper arch climb. You will be in awe as you see the largest fleet of hot air balloons prepare to sail the skies. On your ride, take in the picturesque landscapes at sunrise as you fly gently above the Tablelands. Need to Know
If intending to snorkel, passengers are required to complete a Medical Declaration for Snorkelers form (available upon booking) which will assist the tour crew to identify passengers who are either AT RISK and require additional supervision or passengers who are HIGH RISK and not suitable to participate in the activity of snorkeling due to a combination of factors i.e. Age, Physical health, swimming ability, mobility. If guests are unsure if they may be HIGH RISK and not suitable to snorkel, then we suggest a recent medical certificate would be acceptable if they are a capable swimmer.

If a passenger is identified as a HIGH RISK snorkeler they will not be permitted to snorkel.

Identifying a High Risk Snorkeler

To identify a HIGH RISK SNORKELER the passenger would have a COMBINATION of the following risks:

– Age – any person over 70 years old
– Medical history – any person with health issues identified particularly heart issues, epilepsy, overweight, limited mobility (i.e. unable to put on fins and safely use the ladders)
– Swimming ability – any person with the above who has not swum in the ocean recently
– Communication difficulty – Passenger not understanding safety briefings
– Non-Swimmer / Poor swimmer

Crew reserves the right to decline any passenger from participating in snorkeling if there is a concern about the health condition and/or swimming ability of a passenger for the safety and well-being of all guests onboard.

Take pleasure in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, which is famous for its breathtaking scenery of lush green mountains, cascading waterfalls and extraordinary plant and animal species. The region has about 3000 plant species from over 200 different families, with 700 of these species found nowhere else. The climate in the higher mountain regions like Black Mountain Hideaway is consistently cooler than the warm, tropical climate of the coastal lowlands. The half day ATV Quad Bike adventure travels through tropical rainforest & creek beds, encountering spectacular unspoilt mountaintop views, and purpose built obstacles, mud pits, and motocross track on 5 acres to itself.

Half day tours operate twice daily with sessions at 9:00am and 1:30pm. Actual riding time is 2hrs and includes a pre-tour riding lesson, and safety briefing. Riders will be given plenty of practice time on the training track, and guides will asses riders to determine the trails to venture on.

The ATV Quad bikes on the fleet are Polaris 300cc, and there are also some Yamaha 90cc bikes for the kids and small adults. All bikes are fully automatic, requiring no use of a foot or hand clutch, and adopting a single hand braking method for all 4 wheels making these bikes extremely safe and fun to ride for anyone. Comfortability is also well considered with the fleet of bikes having independent quad suspension, and being shaft driven for that additional sustainability of trekking up hills and through the mud.

All riding abilities, and children ages 12yrs and up are welcome to participate. Group sizes are small and personalised with a maximum of 8 riders per group and all experience levels catered for.

Shotover Canyon Swing is the world’s highest swing.With over 10 different jumpstyles we can expertly manage the scariness for everyone from knitting nanas to adrenaline junkies.

We have built a platform on the edge of a cliff 109m/360ft above the Shotover River. At the platform you are fitted into a seat and chest safety harness and connected to the jump ropes. This harnessing configuration keeps your arms and legs free throughout the journey and enabling you to safely depart the platform in any position imaginable. Gravity does the rest.

Upon departing from the platform you’ll have a pure freefall of 60m/200ft into the canyon before the ropes smoothly pendulum you to a giant swing arc of 200m/650ft at 150kph. The freefall/swing journey is so smooth you’ll barely notice when you’ve finished freefalling and begun your swing. After a number of swings across the canyon we’ll winch you swiftly back up to the platform.

This jet boat adventure offers your senses a feast of spectacular natural beauty on a journey into the wilderness of the World Heritage-listed Mt. Aspiring National Park.

Your day begins with 1.5 hour journey on a jet boat through the Dart River system. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful snow-covered peaks, hidden valleys & waterfalls. Your day includes a guided walk (30 minutes) along the ‘Heritage Trail’ at Paradise. Your guide will provide you with informative & entertaining commentary about the ancient native beech forest. The forests of this region sit within a World Heritage Area, one of the only natural sites of its kind that is accessible to the public.

Your guide details the fascinating history of this area from the days of Gondwanaland, to quests by Maori for prized pounamu, to the present-day efforts of New Zealand’s department of conservation for the preservation of the area.
