Carved over time by glaciers, the deepest part of the Milford Sound Fiord is 400m and is the wettest inhabited place in New Zealand with a mean annual rainfall of close to 7m, feeding the many waterfalls that thunder down cliff faces.
Explore Milford Sound’s stunning fiord from the air and on the water by boarding a plane for a 35 minute scenic flight to Milford Sound flying over the spectacular Southern Alps. Upon landing, passengers are transferred to the Southern Discoveries Visitor Centre to board a Milford Sound cruise.
Enjoy excellent up close viewing opportunity of wildlife on this all-inclusive cruise including seals, dolphins and penguins when in season. Next, gaze through crystal clear waters as you kayak around serene Harrison Cove with a specialist kayak and nature guide. No previous kayaking experience is necessary and there’s an automated lift for easy entry/exit from the kayaks.
The return flight back to Queenstown takes a different path so that passengers experience further dramatic scenery before arriving at Queenstown Airport and return transfer to accommodation.
